Why the price per running metre can be misleading
A metre of simple cabinets with shelves costs something different from a metre with drawers, pull-out larders, a corner unit and tall appliance housings. Treat a price per metre only as a very rough reference point.
A reliable quote starts with a floor plan, a list of appliances and decisions about materials. Only then can you compare offers from different makers.
Five things that change the budget the most
The biggest differences come from the doors, the number and quality of drawers, the type of worktop, the internal fittings and unusual details. Lacquer, veneer and routed details usually cost more than good laminate. A stone or sintered worktop costs more than a laminate one.
The room matters too: crooked walls, trimming at the ceiling, a hidden doorway or a large island all mean more design and installation work.
Where to save without a "cheap kitchen" look
It is best to keep good runners and hinges and look for savings in the carcass finish, the number of pull-out systems and the material on less visible surfaces. One veneered or fluted accent can make a bigger impression than an expensive material on every door.
We can prepare two versions of the same kitchen: a sensible one and a more elaborate one. That way you see exactly what you are paying extra for.
What to prepare for the first quote
Approximate wall dimensions, photos of the room, a list of appliances and some inspiration are enough. Be open about the budget you want to spend, too. That way we do not design something that never fitted your plans.
The final price comes after the site survey and the choice of materials. At Sęk the quote is itemised, and the scope is written down before production starts.
Frequently asked questions
Is the 3D design included in the price?
We agree the scope of the design and how it is charged before work begins. After the site survey you receive a visualisation and a quote for the materials.
Is a small kitchen always cheap?
Not always. A small space often needs more non-standard solutions, but it still leaves plenty of room for optimisation.
Every room has different dimensions and constraints. Describe your project in the form and we will get back to you with the next steps.
